2008 Jeep Liberty Recall

In case you haven't heard, Chrysler is recalling 2008 Jeep Liberty vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. There is a parking brake defect that could result in a crash. The recall also involves 2007-2008 Dodge Nitros.

In a defect notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the following is explained: "the park brake lever clutch drum may distort and reduce the effectiveness of the park brake system."

Those who own the vehicles involved should be notified by their dealers this month. But if you want to make your own arrangements, you can call Chrysler at (800) 853-1403.

Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander recall

According to autoblog Chrysler is warning 1,338 owners of Jeep Grand Cherokees and Commanders that they could be driving unsafe vehicles.

In Chrysler Recall H03, these Jeep owners are being told their vehicles' control modules might have been incorrectly installed, which could cause stalling and/or windshield wiper failure. Either of these could be dangerous.

The recall includes 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Commanders only at this point. Dealers will inspect the module and replace it if necessary. The recall began on Feb. 18, 2008. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 if they are concerned about, or have experienced, this problem.
